Moviedrome CoverMoviedrome Magazine Added to Memorabilia
The Night of the Comet article from the 1990 Moviedrome Guide has been added to the Memorabilia section of the site. Moviedrome was a BBC2 series responsible for introducing cult films before they were shown on the channel. Between 1988 and 1994 the series was hosted by director Alex Cox. This guide accompanied the series' third season and contains the introductions that were narrated by Alex Cox for the films shown May to September 1990. [It is thanks to this series that I was introduced to Night of the Comet - Webmaster]. [30/10/07] Go

35mm Print of Night Of The Comet Wanted for UK Film Festival
Nightofthecomet.info has received the following request for help:
Greetings. I'm involved in a relatively young British horror festival that runs each Halloween called Abertoir (www.abertoir.co.uk) and we're trying to locate a 35mm print of Night Of The Comet to show at next year's festival, but to make this happen we need your help!

The Abertoir festival shows a mix of old and new horror films. Last year we showed quality 35mm prints of John Carpenter's The Thing, the 1973 version of The Wicker Man and James Whale's Frankenstein. This year we're showing Poltergeist and The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari amongst other classics. Also there will be a whole heap of new films too like the new Troma epic Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead and the rapidly-acclaim gathering revisionist slasher flick All The Boys Love Mandy Lane.

Night Of The Comet isn't as well known in the UK as it deserves to be and to my knowledge the film isn't a festival regular. This is a chance to change that! If anyone has a 35mm print or knows someone who'd be willing to let us show a copy at the festival, would they please contact Andy at the_holy_ferret@yahoo.co.uk. Any help would be most graciously appreciated. Give British horror fans the chance to see this cult classic where it belongs - on the big screen!!!
